Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Narvik

Arrival in Narvik accordingly to your own itinerary. Narvik is one of the biggest municipalities of Nordland County and is surrounded by beautiful nature, including the Beisfjord and it is the main entrance to the Lofoten Islands. The city is located just north of the Arctic Circle where the midnight sun is visible from beginning of June to middle of July. It is also well connected to Abisko National Park in Sweden via one of the most stunning train rides in Scandinavia. Accommodation in 3* hotel in Narvik city center

Day 02: Narvik – Senja (195km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Start driving north. You will drive via Bardu where, if you wish, you can visit the famous Polar park and enjoy sharing some moments with majestic fauna that can be found in Norway such as lynx, moose, moskus or even wolf. Continue via Finnsnes into Senja, the second largest island in the country connected to the mainland by Gisund Bridge. Accommodation in 3* hotel in Senja (two nights)

Day 03: Senja Island

Breakfast at the hotel. Senja island sits northeast of the Vesterålen archipelago, surrounded by the Norwegian Sea to the northwest and several fjords. Senja is connected to the mainland by the Gisund Bridge. Among the sights of interest is Ånderdalen National Park, traditional fishing communities and the world’s largest troll: Senja Trollet (The Troll of Senja).

Day 04: Senja – Tromsø (220km)

Today is a new driving day. We keep steering north towards Tromsø, the capital of the Norweagian Arctic and the nicknamed Paris of the North. Accommodation in 3* hotel in Tromsø city center (two nights)

Day 05: Tromsø

Breakfast at the hotel. Day at your own disposal to discover Tromsø with its beautiful old and historic wooden houses that co-exist with modern architecture. Tromsø has been named after the island of Tromsøya which it is situated on. The Arctic Cathedral, a modern church from 1965, is probably the most famous landmark in Tromsø. Today you have time to discover the arctic wild life if you wish we can arrange an additional cruise or a rib boat safari for you. Ask for the optional activities we offer in Tromsø.

Day 06: Tromsø – Alta (300km)

Leave Tromsø driving across the Troms region enjoying the beautiful scenery and cross the Lyngen Apls. Today you stay overnight in Alta, famous for the dark winters and bright summers. In this area you can discover more about the Sami culture and traditions. We also recommend a visit to the Cathedral of the Northern Lights and you can’t miss the Rock carvings at Alta museum, dating from circa 4200 BC to 500 BC. These carvings are listed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Accommodation in 3* hotel in Alta city center

Day 07: Alta – Honningsvåg (206 km)

Breakfast at the hotel; today you will continue your journey in North direction driving towards the Magerøy Island where Europe’s northernmost point can be found: The North Cape. Accommodation in 3* hotel in Honningsvåg town center (two nights)

Day 08: Honningsvåg and the North Cape

The famous Nordkapp (North Cape) is at latitude of 71° north and rises to a majestic 308 meters above sea. It has always been an important point of orientation for sailors in the northern areas and a big attraction for people from all over the world. At North Cape the Midnight sun is usually visible from middle May to the end of July and today is a free day for you to visit it (not included).

Day 09: Honningsvåg – Hammerfest (178km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Leave Honningsvåg passing again the North Cape Tunnel with south west direction with Hammerfest, the northernmost city in the world and the first city in Europe to acquire electric street lights. Hammerfest is located in the island of Kvaløya and it is perfect for sea life spotting. Take the Zigzag Path to Mount Salen to enjoy fantastic views. Accommodation in 3* hotel in Hammerfest city center

Day 10: Hammerfest – Harstad (Hurtigruten)

Hurtigruten sails along Norway’s spectacular western and northern coast. The whole trip has been described as the ‘World’s Most Beautiful Sea Voyage’. You will cruise south passing by beautiful islands spending a night on board the magnificent vessel on your way to the Lofoten Islands. Accommodation in Hurtigruten outside cabin

Day 11: Hurtigruten – arrival in Harstad

Today you will arrive in Harstad. After disembarking, you can take advantage of you early arrival to explore the northernmost part of the Norwegian famous archipelago. Tonight, is the last night of the itinerary. Accommodation in 3* hotel in Harstad city center

Day 12: Harstad

After breakfast, drop off your rental car at the airport.
